This is a new site from Mike Filsaime, and as always is free to use. Basically, this is a Blog where ANY member can do the posting, and advertising is most definately allowed! Obviously there will be no reason to visit the Blog *except* to post in the future, and as it becomes popular new posts will shuffle down quickly - a la FFA's (of which I suppose you could see hits a hi-tech version). The Super Affiliate Handbook

"The Super Affiliate Handbook" is, in marketing terms, an `old` ebook... I bet you've seen ads for this countless times, all over the net. I'm mentioning it today as a great example of Product Longevity. Rosalind Gardener first published the Super Affiliate Handbook in 2003. That means it's been selling steadily for over two years. This is almost unheard of - for an ebook! The secret? My guess is a number of factors. First, it's strong content. Second, it's still relevant, and Third - most importantly - NO Master Resell or Resell Rights are included. Instead this book is only available from Rosalind. That's an important point. Resell Rights can be the death-blow for any kind of control over your baby. Unless you deliberately intend your product to spread far and wide, think carefully before giving away all the rights. As Rosalind demonstrates here just ONE quality product can continue to earn for you year after year. Rosalind does allow affiliates for this book. And this is probably another factor to it's success, since it's been in the ClickBank Marketplace for a long time. At that site success breeds more success. A top selling product climbs the ranks, becomes visible to more affiliates, and continues to stay at the top. The moral of today's message: Concentrate on a quality product and guard it jealously. You don't need hundreds of sites and dozens of products to be a Marketing Success!

Marketing Main Event

It seems to me EVERYONE is pushing this bundle today - and I'm sure the $148 commissions have nothing to do with it (lol!) I don't have an affiliate link for this so the link above will take you to the main site. The main selling point here is the software included that you won't find anywhere else (or... at least with Master Rights). I won't go through every title included here. No doubt the creators needed to charge enough for themselves and the JV partners to make a tidy income. From personal experience most will buy this simply to resell. If you feel you can do more with the products or you're confident of selling a few copies then this is a good investment. For example a little work on your part will give you a site, hosted, with an autoresponder, giving away (or selling cheaply) branded products that back-end onto bigger things... all do-able from within a package such as this :-) This sale lasts one week. "The Secret Trailer"

Click Here for the website, view the trailer in QuickTime or Media Player. Click Here to view the trailer in Google Video. The Secret is actually a TV Program from Australia's "Prime Time TV". The Forum for the program says "For the first time in history The Secret is being released in a Worldwide Television Event !" This a good example of viral marketing. A buzz has built up around this site but actually it seems to be based around "The Master Key System" by Charles F Haanel. This self help book is notrious for supposedly being the `secret` book that Bill Gates read and then decided to leave Harvard to form his own software company. It is said to be required reading amongst the silicon valley Millionaires. In any case, it's available all over the net since it's copyright expired a while back, including at the link above. As for the TV Program? We'll wait until the start of 2006 to see!

Google FeedReader

Google has a new feed reader program in beta on their `labs` page. Click Here to read this Netpreneur News Blog with that system. There are a couple of useful features included: 1. You can subscribe to any feed, and Google Reader will keep track of them for you. 2. You can automatically post the feed entry into your Blogger blog. 3. Pixel Advertising

This is an interesting idea. Basically, you buy screen-space per pixel to place your ad. There are a number of sites doing this... Usually the pixels are sold in $100 blocks for a 10x10 square which is practically useless for an ad. Therefore a 3 or 4 square ad would cost you up to $400 - just enough for a tiny button-type logo! This advertising is for the lifetime of the site, but I don't think it's a economical way to advertise. Once the novelty has worn off there won't be much traffic for your ad. It can also be a catch-22 situation: as the site builds in popularity, more ads appear, making your ad difficult to stand out. You *may* get a surge in traffic as the site is building - but that's probably about that. The most popular seems to be The Million Dollar Homepage. I think, but I'm not sure, that it was the first. By all accounts it's a success story -- but only the novelty factor (press releases and news coverage helped). But a search in Google for Pixel Advertising will reveal a lot more clones of this site, that look VERY similar - even down to the menus. There is a marketing lesson here. Being unique, somewhat outrageous, and the first off the block works.

Since I mentioned the Blog Submitter tool below, funnily enough this blog has started receiving a LOT of spam to the comments. Unfortunately I've now had to turn on Blogger's "Word Verification" feature. A pretty cool option - anyone posting a comment now has to complete a word-verification step to stop automated posts. Again, nice for bloggers - bad for marketers...

What's the deal with Blog Submitter Pro? I'm torn between slamming this piece of software as a spammy irritant - or recommending it to you :-) I've decided on the latter. How To Build Adsense Revenue Sites

How To Build Adsense Revenue Sites Advertising has long functioned as an extra revenue source for marketers and webmasters. Originally it was just text ads or banners. Some sites forged close ties with their clients and included them as sponsors, complete with pre-pages and elaborate flash animations. Now marketers are taking the idea to the extreme and building sites that exist just to display ads! The technique involves building sites that target a certain niche, and that contain hundreds or thousands of webpages each focused on a single keyword. These pages all contain relevant content, so the search engine is happy. These pages are rarely designed to look attractive - at least to a human. Their purpose is to simply attract a click to the ads. These sites are quite easy to build. First, find your niche. Then find as many keywords and key phrases as possible for this niche. You need to drill down from the `broad` searches to deep searches. Example: You want to build a site around the `fishing` niche. The main keyword for the site is `fishing`, obviously, so you'd use a tool such as the Overture Search Suggestion tool to find deeper keywords. By drilling down we find `tampa bay fishing`, `canada fishing lodge`, `bass fishing tip` etc. These are the phrases you'd build pages around. These deeper search terms only get a couple of hundred to a thousand searches per month. The technique is similar to the way marketers used to save money when bidding on ads in overture or adsense. They'd never pay for such a broad term as fishing, they would bid on the more specific terms. After finding your keywords you can integrate content from other sites, most commonly articles or RSS/Blog feeds, to fill the page with the ads on top. A feed has the added bonus of providing constantly changing content. These pages will be highly focused on individual phrases and won't attract much traffic. But because there are so many of them a site with, say, 1000 pages could attract tens of thousands of hits a month. And 10, 20 or even 50 sites would attract a LOT of traffic. And since each and every page is displaying relevant ads even a 1% click through rate could result in thousands of clicks per month. The most common Ad source for these sites is Google AdSense, though Yahoo now offer a similar system. As an estimate, we'll assume a 1% click through. If the site has 500 pages and it attracts 1000 hits a day, it would get 100 clicks a day. That is 3,000 a month. Google is very secretive about it's payouts but as an example let's call that $300 per month. Now imagine having 10 of these sites. That's $3000 a month! Or 100... That's $30,000! And this is exactly what people are doing. The figures will vary wildly, but the system remains the same. I have some reservations about the long term viability of these sites. Google updates have wiped out doorway pages before (an older form of this idea). And Google has a duty to provide relevant content to it's users - something it tends to work hard at. Running ad-sites like this is technically spamming the search engines. If you are caught out, your site could be banned. It's a risk but if you slip under the radar a potentially profitable one! And careful use of templates and articles/feeds will make a site with relevant content -- even if the content isn't yours. Constructing an Adsense Site The domain name for the niche you are building this adsense site for should contain the main keywords or phrase. You then need a template that each page is built around. This could be as simple as a blank page or it could contain a sitemap, links, graphics, etc. You would also want your AdSense ads code at the top. The pages URL, Title, and Meta Tags should reflect the keyword/phrase you are currently focussing this page on. You then fill the main content with a relevant RSS feed and/or article. There are many sources of articles on the web. Try ezinearticles.com or articlecity.com You are usually allowed to copy as many articles as you want as long as the authors resource box is included. You can find RSS feeds at syndic8.com A good tool to read the RSS Feed and display it on site is RSS2HTML. If you use it this way it will be read by the search-engine that spiders the page correctly. Some scripts, such as those written in JavaScript, will not show the content as part of the site. The RSS2HTML script will place the blog/rss content on your page and update it as necessary. For further revenue, you can add keyword-specific content from other sites such as Amazon, AllPosters, eBay etc. The advantage with these affiliate programs is that if you specify the keyword you will display attractive, graphical ads tailored to that page. These can generate more income as well as make the page more professional. After you have this page you move on to your next keyword/phrase. You can use different articles and blogs, and you need to change the page name and title. The first page you created can act as a template for all others. Only small changes need to be made - mainly in the content part. Do this until you have a page for each keyword/phrase you have listed. Upload the whole site, get listed in the search engines (submit your main URL or get linked from an existing site), and wait! The only problem with this method of working is the repititive nature of building these sites. A site with a thousand pages could be impossible for a human to build alone. Luckily, there are now numerous packages and scripts available to automate this process... Marketing Interviews: Follow In Their Footsteps

A couple of days ago I posted a `No Bull` plan to make money on-line. If you missed it, it's in the Blog at this link When I wrote that it occured to me that there's another way to fast-track your way to success. Namely, learn from those who have gone before you! After all, there's no point in re-inventing the wheel. Countless other marketers have spent hundreds of thousands, even millions, perfecting their techniques. The No Bull Post On "How To Make Money Online"!

Hey! It's not rocket science making money on the Internet. Once and for all I'm going to give you a basic plan you can use to work from. I'm not taking you by the hand, but this is basically the advice you'll get in countless high-price course distilled into one e-mail :) The Secret: You just give people what they want! But... you can charge people for this priviledge. Or you can give it to them, and earn from it in other ways. You can create this `thing` that people want, or you can get someone else to make it for you. Or you can take a ready made solution and provide that to potential customers. But first - of course - you need to find out exactly *what* they want! You see - there's no secrets. You can write your own cheque if you find or make a product that solves a common problem, as long as there is enough people with this problem. Make sure the people with this problem are aware of your product and you're laughing all the way to the bank! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1.Discover a common problem and provide the solution: There are many ways to find out. If you have an e-mail list, simply ask your subscribers if there's anything they need help with, or if there's anything they have problems with. You can also look in web forums, to see the kinds of problems people are facing. Finally look to current trends. Use a site like Google News to see if current affairs present an opportunity, or look at Google Zeitgeist and Yahoo Buzz for ideas - they list the top searches in various categories for their respective sites. Sometimes you can even skip this stage since other people have already researched what sells. For example, eBay offer a list of their top selling items. Do better than the current top products but in the same market to `hijack` their sales... Examples: A common modern problem is the worry about terrorism. Old established problems include health, money, career, and relationship problems. 2. Provide a Solution: Basically *information* is the solution. You can of course find a physical answer to certain problems but the cost and complexity of developing these can be out of reach of most home business people. Information is easy to create, easy to sell, and easy to transport. Over the Internet it can be as simple as downloading a file, usually an e-book or report. You can create this solution yourself. Research the problem and find answers and procedures that will help it. The Internet is a great source of answers, yet people are willing to pay for the convenience of having these answers presented to them in an easily digestible format. If you don't think you can write/create this product yourself you can get someone else to do it for you. It's an open secret that there are many people who can create graphics, sites, books and software for you at a price much lower than you'd think. Just look to sites such as eLance, ScriptLance etc. Prices can be cheap because the solutions often come from countries such as Russia or third-world areas where wages are much lower. It doesn't matter if these subjects have been covered before - you can always put a new spin on it. 3. Make sure the people with the problem can find your Solution. In essence this involves promotion. This is THE single most important part to running a successful website. The best kind of visitors are people who already know what to expect, they are known as `qualified visitors`. They may come to your site from an article, a link on another site, or a link or paid ad at a search engine. With luck these visitors may even be so hungry for a solution to their problem they will be `pre sold` and order immediately. To get qualified visitors to a website you need to ensure that anyone who would be interested in your product would be able to find it. The first port of call is the main Search Engines, which nowadays can be boiled down to Google and Yahoo. You need to ensure your page(s) are `machine readable`, i.e. contain text content, so the Search Engines can make sense of them. You should also use services like Googles Adsense Tool, WordTracker, and the Overture Suggestion Tool to find relevant keywords that people would use when searching for a site like yours. When you have your keywords liberally use them in the main page content of your website. This could mean swapping links with similar sites, paying for ads on similar sites, or posting messages (with your link) in forums and messageboards. You can also advertise `offline` by placing ads in local businesses or in newspapers/magazines were appropriate. Finally, e-mail advertising still works well. You can purchase ads from e-zines that cover your topic, as well as build your own list by offering something of value (like a report) at your sales site in exchange for the visitors email address. A great method of getting your site `out there` is to write articles, based on your product, that include your link. You then submit these articles to the various article directories across the web. This makes you seem more of an expert in your subject as well as providing links back to your site. As well as traffic that comes direct from your link these links back to your site also increase your position in the Search Engine listings, so it's an important and ongoing step while promoting.. Finally don't forget word-of-mouth promotion. Happy customers will be happy to recommend you, and free `toys` such as e-postcards or free books (perhaps a subset of your main product) will often find their away around the web rapidly. That plan above really IS the "secret" to profiting online. Of course, I haven't gone into great detail on each step - I'm leaving the nuts-and-bolts stuff up to you. If I covered every little step I'd expand this report into a 300 page book, and - of course - charge for it :-) Luckily there are some existing products that can take you by the hand and lead you step by step through every stage.
