The ins and outs of Giveaway Sites...

I see Cody Moya of "Resell Rights Giveaway" is launching some new sites, including an Audio Giveaway site, a Advertising Giveaway, and more. The principle remains the same - set way back in time with the first "12 Days Of Christmas" giveaway, and maybe even before that. Publishers promote the site, to earn points and drive their own particular "giveaway" to the top of the ladder. That way, they can gain some more subscribers. They may also gain sales of back-end products, perhaps using the "One Time Offer" (right after subscribing) technique. The subscriber gets a free product. People love free stuff, but they do not value it. That's the inherent problem. People tend to simply hoard all these great products on their hard drive and rarely, if ever, actually read or use any of it. In fact, they probably have a lot more than they can handle. The operator of the giveaway website gets a LOT of traffic. You can do wonders with this kind of targeted traffic, and you also gain a list of subscribers and a list of marketers. The only problem with all this is that it devalues every other marketing product for sale on the web. I mean, would you go out and buy a product if it's on a giveaway website? The key is to be selective. Guard your rights jealously. If you have a product, give away samples or cut-down versions. Do not offer full Resale Rights to your main product - UNLESS it's focus is to drive traffic/gain subscribers/make back-end sales. In that case, you want other people to sell it or give it away. This is how marketers like Ewen Chia say it should be done, in "Unlock Your Empire". They call it a funnel, from a low-priced product or giveaway to a full-priced back-end sale. It's a very good tactic. In the long term, you make more money by building trust and freely providing good content than you do by simply going for a one time sale. If you're not creating, but learning from these products do not bother downloading everything. Choose one or two products you feel you'd benefit from, and read them. Really read them. If you're re-selling you just need to use the usual methods. Use a limited time limit, a raising price, or extra bonuses. Or even just limit the amount to be sold. Add extras, to make your offer irresistable. And don't forget, even though you may have downloaded the product for free the buyer doesn't neccessarily know this. Strangest Spam Report

I guess cries about spam are reaching new levels of absurdity. Today I received a warning about a spam-report... from an article responder! This is just a autoresponder setup to send an article, when a user requests one. It does not (can not) send mass mailings of any kind, only respond to an e-mail. Yet someone said it was spam... A number of my articles have always been available using this method. Some ezine-directories even insist on it. As from now - this has stopped :(

Although it's hard to admint, software aimed at marketers is often way overpriced. Sometimes you're able to find many excellent utilities and applications as Shareware or Freeware.
